FAQs

Do I only need treatment if I am injured?

While the majority of clients coming into Reforge Group are injured or in need of rehabilitation services it is important to make sure you are taking care of your body and providing it with the proper maintenance that it requires. By seeing a registered therapist regularly you are able to limit your risk of injury. Massage therapy treatments, physiotherapy, athletic therapy and general exercise all help in keeping you as injury free as possible.

How do I decide what type of treatment I need?

Treatment types and your specific plan that is created for you is all a result of an initial consultation. In the initial consultation you are assessed and the best type of treatment for you is determined. Treatment needs will also change as your progress and we make sure to provide access to all treatment options. Registered therapists work closely with you to make sure your needs are always being met. They are able to easily and effectively communicate to each other so if your needs shift there is no disconnect or drawn out transition period. We take care of the treatment specifics so that you can focus on what you love doing.

What does a general exercise session look like?

Every session begins with a dynamic warm-up with exercises like jumping jacks, pushups and lunges to help get your blood flowing, muscles warmed up and heart rate slightly raised. Following the warm up is a strength or skill work where depending on the day you work on strength by doing exercises like deadlifts, or you work on skill work which requires more coordination. The workout of the day is next, where you focus on endurance, skill and strength combined by trying to do a set amount of work in a pre determined period of time. Finally, comes stretching and cool down- very important!

How do I start treatment?

We’re so glad you asked! We are always welcoming new clients to Reforge Group. You are welcome to sign up through our network partner Healkore. Ashley Nardella

Inspired from her sister at age 5, Ashley spent 16 years of her life, 20 hours a week, waterlogged and had a successful swim career. She medaled at provincials, qualified for junior nationals, competed for Canada at an international meet in Italy, and had enjoyed many trips across Canada and the US. She finished her swimming career at Laurentian University, after battling injuries that became overwhelming. She learned at a very young age that in order to be successful, she had to be dedicated, committed and have the drive to be the best you can!

When her swimming career ended, she struggled for 7 years to figure out who she was since she was no longer an ‘athlete’. She did her first fundamental training at Crossbones Crossfit and she was hooked but after two years of training at Crossbones, she found Crossfit Colosseum, where her LOVE for Crossfit grew tenfold. She began coaching in 2016 and absolutely loves it. Watching athletes move outside of their comfort zones and push themselves beyond what they ever thought possible is what completely lights her up! This precision nutrition coach, crossfit coach, competitive swim athlete & coach (of 25 years of experience), crossfit athlete and coach, and 5 year Ride to Conquer cancer rider is excited to bring on clients of all athletic background (if any!). All her nutrition programs and packages are personally designed! .
